The influencer and entrepreneur known as KSI has purchased a minority stake in the Dagenham & Redbridge football club The investment is part of a broader takeover of the club by a consortium identified as the Happy Fan Group Specific details regarding the size of KSI's stake or the group's future plans for the club have not been publicly disclosed.

This transition in ownership coincides with a significant change in the club's long-standing leadership. Stephen Thompson MBE, who has been associated with the club for 45 years, is set to step down from his role as Managing Director In recognition of his extensive service, Thompson has been appointed as the club's honorary life president

Thompson first joined the club's management in 1981, prior to its 1992 merger, and was appointed Managing Director in 2007 He received an MBE in 2013 for his services to the sport During his tenure, he also served on the board of the National League and was a prominent supporter of the "3 Up" campaign, which advocates for an additional promotion spot from the fifth tier into the English Football League's League Two

In a statement regarding his departure, Thompson called his long association with the club a "privilege" and stated that the takeover by the Happy Fan Group made it the "right time to step down and hand the reins to the new owners" As a lifelong supporter, he wished the new ownership group the very best for the club's future
