RAWALPINDI: The Bykea rider shooting case has raised serious questions over the official FIR narrative after injured rider Alayan Masih claimed Dolphin Force personnel shot him nine times from close range after mistaking him for a suspect’s accomplice.
According to Alayan, he had only dropped a passenger near Farooq-i-Azam Road when police arrived and the passenger allegedly opened fire. He says Dolphin personnel then fired at him despite him being unarmed and repeatedly telling them he was only a Bykea rider.
However, the FIR reportedly blames the suspect Arslan’s firing for injuring Alayan, creating a major contradiction over who actually shot the rider. Four Dolphin officials have been suspended, but it remains unclear whether a separate criminal case has been registered against them.
The case now hinges on ballistic evidence, medical reports, CCTV footage and the rider’s Bykea record — all of which could determine whether this was a genuine crossfire incident or an attempt to shift blame away from police firing.
