Stephen Robinson has been confirmed as the new head coach of Aberdeen, joining from Scottish Premiership rivals St Mirren on a contract that runs until the summer of 2029. The 51-year-old manager will be accompanied by his assistant, Brian Kerr, in the move to Pittodrie.

In a statement, Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack described Robinson as "a proven leader with a strong track record of overachieving." Cormack highlighted Robinson's eight years of experience in Scottish football, noting his ability to deliver strong results while "punching well above the resources he's had to work with."

The appointment comes as Aberdeen seeks to redefine its on-field presence. Cormack stated there is a "strong desire to re-establish a clear identity for our club, to become harder to play against and restore competitiveness." The club believes Robinson is the right head coach to build a resilient and competitive team with solid foundations. Robinson, a former manager of Motherwell, had been in charge at St Mirren since February 2022.
