Norwegian international Guro Reiten has concluded her decorated six-year tenure with Chelsea, joining the American side Gotham FC The 31-year-old winger was a pivotal figure in a period of significant success for the club, having joined in 2019 from LSK Kvinner in her native Norway During her time in London, Reiten amassed 13 major trophies, including a Women's Super League (WSL) title for each of her six seasons, four FA Cups, and three League Cups She contributed 59 goals across 207 appearances for the Blues
Reiten’s departure follows a period of limited playing time under Sonia Bompastor, who took charge of the club in May 2024 In an emotional farewell video posted on Chelsea's website, Reiten reflected on her journey. "I still remember Emma [Hayes] called me six and a half years ago, convinced me to join the club and I was terrified," she said, admitting she was scared she wasn't good enough "Little did I know I was going to get a new family here because it has been all about the people and the ones that have been with me on this journey"
