Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has dismissed speculation about his retirement from T20 cricket, stating his ambition to play in the 2028 T20 World Cup and the Los Angeles Olympics
Having already stepped away from One-Day International (ODI) cricket, Maxwell's focus is on extending his career in the sport's shortest format His long-term goal comes despite a sparse international schedule for the Australian men's T20 team, which currently has only eight bilateral matches scheduled before August 2027
Despite the limited opportunities to represent Australia in the coming years, Maxwell remains hopeful of prolonging his T20 international career to compete for two of the sport's most significant prizes in 2028 The T20 World Cup is set to be held in Australia and New Zealand, while the LA Games will feature the return of cricket to the Olympics.
