Former England captain Michael Vaughan has stated that England possesses a superior spin attack to India and has a "funny feeling" Harry Brook's side will win their T20 World Cup semi-final on Thursday in Mumbai.
While India entered the tournament as the overwhelming favourites, they have shown signs of vulnerability, suffering a defeat to South Africa in the Super 8s phase after stuttering through the group stage. In contrast, England has progressed to the last four with five successive victories, though they are yet to deliver a complete performance.
Vaughan, speaking on the Test Match Special podcast, acknowledged England's ability to navigate difficult situations. "They seem to have found a way of winning," he said, highlighting their victory over New Zealand in a dead rubber as a "great effort" that demonstrated their resolve. Despite England's batting having reportedly failed to fire consistently throughout the tournament, Vaughan's confidence stems from what he perceives as a crucial advantage in the spin bowling department. He believes this could be a decisive factor against the host nation in the high-pressure knockout match.
